The Hardys to Issue Challenge, Major Problem at NXT Arrival, HTM Thanks WWE Stocks

- Matt Hardy’s next OMEGA Championship Wrestling event will take place on April 26th in Cameron, North Carolina at Union Pines High School. “Chaos In Cameron: A Hardy Homecoming” will benefit the high school. Matt teased on Twitter that he and Jeff Hardy will be teaming up that night to issue an open challenge to the greatest tag teams in wrestling.
- The Honky Tonk Man posted a photo of his new house on Twitter and said it was all thanks to WWE stocks.
- There were just under 200 ticket holders turned away from last night’s WWE NXT Arrival event at Full Sail University, apparently because Full Sail oversold the event. Fans were told right before the event that the 400-seat NXT Arena was over capacity. Customer service was described as horrible. NXT wrestlers were sent out to sign autographs but apparently refunds weren’t offered, at least not at first. The explanation from Full Sail staff was they oversold because generally they have 200 no-shows on the free tickets at each taping since students and those associated with the school get in free, while outsiders have to pay. Apparently, to make sure the building is full, they give out far more tickets than there are seats available. For Arrival, virtually nobody with the free tickets showed up.

- People who spoke to CM Punk at last weekend’s UFC pay-per-view from Las Vegas noted that he seemed very non-committal about his status with WWE and treated it like it was something in his past.
At last Monday’s RAW from Green Bay, there was no talk among the talents that anyone would be seeing Punk next week.
Internally, Punk is not expected to be at Monday’s RAW from his hometown of Chicago and there is concern over what the crowd will do without him there.

Mick Foley on Watching Chyna & Eddie Guerrero on the WWE Network

- Mick Foley has a new Facebook post where he talks about watching Chyna and Eddie Guerrero on the WWE Network. Here’s part of what he wrote:
“Yes, I’ve been outspoken lately about a couple of things in WWE. But much as I felt when I was working elsewhere, and had to accept that my own kids preferred the WWE product to the product my company was offering, I had to make a decision: stop watching WWE out of protest for the one thing I felt like they were doing wrong (which they still might get right) and miss out on that valuable family bonding time WWE provides us….or agree to disagree with WWE on an issue or two, and enjoy all the good things they do with my family.
I mentioned a couple of days ago that I might stop watching “Raw” for a little while…and I might. But with this new WWE network, abandoning the product completely would seem kind of futile, especially in a house full of WWE fans.”
“I also had the chance to revisit an old friend who is no longer with us – Eddie Guerrero. Of course, anyone who was around when Eddie wrestled remebers what an amazing in-ring performer eddie was. But with the help of the new network, I was reminded of what an incredible entertainer he was, as well. I’d forgotten how funny his segments could be, and how the slightest expression – the wide-eyed look of wonder when he “accidentally” defeated Chyna for a championship – could create such a sense of fun; a reminder to me why just so many people loved the Attitude Era above and beyond the wilder elements that usually define it.
For someone like Chyna, the WWE Network offers longtime fans a reminder of why she was such a big part of the Attitude era, and for newer fans, allows them to see past the charicature that she can often come accross as to the fans who weren’t on hand to see her blaze a trail for future Divas, by offering up not just an unlikely image of what a heroine and sex-symbol could be, but by allowing us to remember the curious study of contrasts that made her one of the shining lights of the era she helped define.
Unfortunately, Eddie’s not with us anymore. It’s unlikely that we’ll see Chyna back with the company she did so much for anytime soon. But with the WWE Network, their legacies – and the legacies of so many others – are alive and well.”

Triple H Talks Daughters, Who He Would Face In NXT, Call-Ups, Breeze, Neville, More

- Below are some highlights from Triple H’s Twitter Q&A this afternoon to promote WWE NXT Arrival:
Would you consider Arrival the WrestleMania of NXT? everyone here has been saying it feels just like a WrestleMania. So, I would say yes.
If you could face anyone from NXT, who would it be? good question. I would have to say Neville and Zayn. Both awesome. Future of #WWE.
Can we expect to see some talent move up to the main roster soon after tonight? it’s all about timing and making sure it’s the right moment to succeed.
What do you think of Tyler Breeze? always had the talent. Finally found the formula. I see big things in his future.
Would you encourage your daughters to go into the wrestling business? I would support anything they wanted to do. If it’s WWE, then absolutely!
Do you train any of the rookies or have any favorites? work with them as much as I can when I’m here. No favorites. Want them all the succeed.
Why isn’t Adrian Neville on RAW? when he has the most chance to succeed, he will be.
What is the most innovating and compelling aspect of the WWE Performance Center? from a learning and safety stance, the crash pad ring will add years to careers!
What do you think is most important to have first – the look, the mic skills or in-ring ability? I would take charisma over anything. It is the one thing you can’t teach.
Can we get a Best of NXT DVD? once we have enough to fill one. BTW it’s called @WWENetwork
Is NXT the only platform WWE will look at talent or will you still keep an eye on the indies?we look for talent any place, any time, any where!

Ziggler Talks About His Concussions, Hogan’s Return at RAW, WWE Network

Wrestleview.com’s Adam Martin joined “The Shark Show” on 94.1 KRNA on Wednesday (2/26) with host the Shark to talk with WWE star Dolph Ziggler about the launch of the WWE Network, Hulk Hogan’s return, concussions and WWE in Cedar Rapids this Saturday. Here are some highlights:
On Hulk Hogan’s return to WWE during the 2/24 RAW:
“Hulkster came out, the roof came unglued, as a fan I couldn’t believe he was back here working for the same company that I work for. Every year I see him on something else and he looks exactly the same. He’s like our Dick Clark.”
On the launch of the WWE Network this week:
“We’re all excited for it. We know that, you know, you’re always waiting to see what happens and waiting to see how this goes. We’ve been preparing for it for literally years. We’ve been doing interviews for years to get shows ready. Whatever happens Pay Per View wise, we know that no matter what we do, as long as we put out a great product, so many of the WWE Universe want to be part of this because it’s affordable, because of everything that it offers. I think it’s going to be great for everybody.”
On suffering two concussions in one year:
“I think the concern comes getting one and coming back too quickly while you’re still damaged. WWE has been so in depth and so over the top with protecting everyone that even when I was medically cleared, they still waited much longer to make sure I was fully recovered. As far as we know, medically cleared for weeks before I ever got back in the ring to check it out. We go above and beyond knowing what we know now about concussions and if I had any concerns, there is no way in hell I’d be back in the ring. My brain is way too smart to get it ruined. We’ve taken precautions and I took my sweet time getting back in that ring and now I feel like a million bucks.”

WWE Studios Working on Remake with Eve Torres and The Miz

- WWE Studios announced today that they have acquired US distribution and worldwide remake rights to the French film “Queens of the Ring.” WWE Studios originally partnered with Warner Bros. on the French production “Les Reines Du Ring” that was released in France last summer.
The comedy centers on Rose, a mother attempting to re-connect with her estranged son, a passionate WWE fan. The mother then trains to become a WWE Diva.
“Les Reines Du Ring” stars Marilou Berry (Rose), Nathalie Baye (Colette), André Dussollier (Richard), Audrey Fleurot (Jessica) and features WWE Superstars Mike “The Miz” Mizanin and Eve Torres.
“We are excited to acquire distribution and remake rights to a wonderfully entertaining comedy like ‘Queens of the Ring,’” said Michael Luisi, President of WWE Studios. “This film gives WWE Studios the opportunity to introduce a ‘feel good’ story to a broad audience, while serving up a film we know our core fans will also enjoy.”

Backstage News on The Authority Plans, Major Storyline Nixed?

- WWE has apparently changed plans for The Authority – Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. There has been no hint of Vince returning for WrestleMania XXX and Stephanie is no longer announced as one of the owners of the company.

There was talk for months of bringing Vince back to TV to begin the program against Triple H for control of the company but it appears to have been nixed.

Possible Matches for WrestleMania XXX, Fans Kicked Out of RAW for Signs

- There has been some talk of doing a multiple Divas match at WrestleMania XXX. There also may be a multi-team match for the WWE Tag Team Titles.
We have more details on the tag team plans here on DWN.
- There was a radio show in the Green Bay area talking about how WWE kicked two fans out of Monday’s RAW for holding up signs. One fan said he gave his “Randy Savage for WWE Hall of Fame” sign to the person sitting next to him and then felt bad when that person got kicked out with him. Other signs that reportedly were deemed a problem by security said “Ronda Rousey can armbar John Cena and make him tap” and “Less Talk, More Wrestling.” The one fan also had a sign that said something about CM Punk being right in that UFC is better than WWE.

WWE Replaces CM Punk with Daniel Bryan In Card Offer, Offers Refunds

- UK fans who pre-ordered the Best of WWE RAW and SmackDown DVD were supposed  to receive a signed CM Punk card. A Reader sent word that he pre-ordered the DVD but was sent a note yesterday saying that they would not be sending the signed Punk cards but instead would be sending a signed Daniel Bryan card. Here’s part of the e-mail he received:
“Dear WWE Fan,
Thank you for your recent purchase of The Best of RAW & SmackDown 2013 Limited Signature Edition. Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control we regret to inform you that we are no longer able to offer the exclusive signed CM Punk card.
We will be offering a signed Daniel Bryan card as a replacement to anyone who ordered the Limited Signed Edition Best of RAW & SmackDown 2013.

Former WWE Star Shoots Hard on Sheamus, Cena, Laurinaitis and Triple H

Former WWE Superstar Tyler Reks was recently interviewed by Pancakes and Power Slams. Here are a couple of things he had to say:
John Laurinaitis:
If you’re not on the radar, he doesn’t care about you. I got belittled by him quite a bit. When I came back as T. Reks, that was Vince. Next thing you know, I was Johnny’s best friend. And when all that ended, he wouldn’t give me the time of day. He is not a nice person. He is all strictly business.
Triple H:
Nice guy. He’s got everything dialed in for the company and he’s taking it in theright direction. Definitely into helping his talent.
Sheamus:
Was nice in the beginning, them I realized that he steps on heads and suddenly isn’t your friend anymore. He only does what’s good for Sheamus.
John Cena:
He’s a workhorse. He does incredible things for the company and he busts his butt. Outside the ring, I can’t stand the guy. He’s not a nice guy, he holds talent down. He steals ideas. He’s a prick.
Why he left WWE:
My daughter was 8 months old and she was starting to notice that I was leaving. Infants change everyday. I was missing out and I realized that I just couldn’t do both. I wanted to be a dad.

Batista on What He Has Left to Offer WWE and More

- Batista proclaims in the latest issue of WWE Magazine that he didn’t return to WWE to be a “savior.” Rather, he sees himself as “just as an addition.”
In response to question asking what he offers to the current WWE landscape, Batista states, “I hope I have something to offer. If I say I’m going to come back to be the savior, well, the company doesn’t need saving, I’m just an addition. I’m going to bring my style of wrestling back, a little bit more aggressive and more explosive. I think I’m going to be coming back and bringing a little more attention with the projects I’ve done outside the company. I’ll pull my weight, I think I have the credibility and respect factor.”
Batista also says he’s not specifically targeting anyone, except for the individual holding the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
In response to whether he’s looking to settle a score with anyone, Batista says, “That’s the great thing about my career—I’ve pretty much worked with the best in the world and the best that’s ever been…I’ve worked with Ric Flair and Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Eddie Guerrero. That’s a short list. I’ve been in the ring with and faced off against The Rock. I’ve been in the ring with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. There are new guys I’d like to work with in the future. I’ve said this for years, I wanted to be Undisputed Heavyweight Champion and now it seems more attainable than ever. That’s my goal and that’s my target. I’m not looking at any one individual other than the person who is holding that title.”
