WWE Main Event Results - May 20th 2014

We are in London, England and your announcers are Tom ‘Look kids . . . ’ Phillips and Byron ‘I thought Stonehenge was a lot bigger’ Saxton.
We start things off with Paul Heyman in the ring. He says that is not how it is done. Paul introduces himself and he says that he wants to try something new this evening. He was speaking with his client in the back and he realized that the name of this show is Main Event. Being, with all false humility aside, the greatest main event advocate in history, Paul would like to change this show to Paul Heyman’s Main Event. Paul does not understand the reaction because if you look back.

Paul says that there is a well kept secret, his client BROCK LESNAR conquered the Undertaker’s undefeated streak at Wrestlemania. His client is guaranteed to be the next Raw and Smackdown main event. He is tonight’s main event Main Event. He will be the main event of Wrestlemania. He is the Swiss Superman, the King of Swing. He is Cesaro.
Cesaro makes his way to the ring.
Paul looks around and he says this is exactly what he has been trying to explain to Cesaro. The WWE Universe is filled with forgiving wannabes. The reaction was indicative of that. He is the greatest athlete from Europe. Every European can look at him and say ‘this is my guy. He is what a European athlete should be.’ The first time that Cesaro got a check as a Paul Heyman guy, he got out of Europe and moved to America.
Paul tells everyone they would do the same thing.
On Monday, he beat Sheamus and slighted him. Sheamus will be forgiving. Tonight, on Paul Heyman’s Main Event, he will be forgiving because he will have lost to the real World’s Strongest Man.
Mark Henry’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring.
Paul tells Mark that Mr. Cesaro’s advocate was not done speaking.
Mark tells Paul that he is done speaking when he says that Paul is done speaking. Mark says that it sounded like Paul said that Cesaro was the strongest man in the world. There is only one World’s Strongest Man and it is him, not this Swiss Miss.
Paul says that he did not mean any disrespect to Mark but it is not bad to be number two. At least not for Henry. Paul says that he is the one in twenty-one and one.
Henry with a bear hug on Cesaro but Cesaro gets out of the hold and goes to the floor.
Damien Sandow is dressed like Sherlock Holmes as he looks for clues. We go to commercial.
We are back and Damien Sandow tells London that Sherlock Holmes is on the case. For those of you who read Scandal in Bohemia, he is good at solving problems. That is why he is here. What you halfwits view as a series of random events, they are a set series of happenings to lead to a result. Damien demands that everyone shush. He says that everyone came from random parts of the empire to see him. You halfwits may view this as complicated, but for him it is elementary. When you eliminate the impossible, whatever is improbable, may be the truth.
R Truth’s music plays to interrupt Damien. Truth wants to know what is up. What he is going to say will not rhyme. He tells Damien that first he was a bad Santa. Then he turned into Magneto. Now, you are Sherlock Holmes? He has seen a lot of crazy things in his day . . . including Little Jimmy.
Damien demands Silence and Truth tells him that he is seven colors short of a rainbow.

Truth sends Sandow’s head into the apron and then Sandow rolls back into the ring. Sandow rolls to the floor when Truth gets back into the ring and he appears to be done with Truth.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Truth sends Sandow into the turnbuckles and follows with a snap mare and gets a near fall. Truth with a punch and forearms to Sandow. We go back to Raw to see Stephanie McMahon’s announcement about the WWE Title and that she wants Daniel Bryan on Raw next week to surrender the title.
We go to commercial.
We are back and we take a look at the footage from Total Divas about Naomi’s injury thanks to Aksana’s knee.
Match Number Two: Aksana versus Naomi (with Cameron)
Aksana taps her knee and Naomi with forearms and kicks to Aksana. Naomi with a sunset flip but Aksana tries for a knee but Naomi moves. Naomi with a flip shoulder tackle and then she rolls up Aksana. Aksana with an Irish whip and Naomi floats over and uses her rear end.
Aksana hits Naomi from behind and gets a near fall. Aksana with shots to the head and she applies a rear chin lock. Naomi with a kick and both women are down. Naomi with drop kicks and then she hits a modified pile driver in the ropes and gets a near fall. Aksana with a tilt-a-whirl slam for a near fall.

Winner: Naomi
We go to commercial.
We are back and it is time to take a look back at what happened with John Cena and the Wyatts.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Paul says to Mr. Henry that they got off on the wrong foot and he says that it was his bad. He is willing to admit when he makes a mistake. Paul would like to atone for that sin because that is what he do.
Paul says that he made a mistake in accepting this match on behalf of his client. Cesaro has already beaten him. Mark may not have been at 100%, but it is more important to see who the World’s Strongest Athlete is. Instead of a contest that ends in pinfall or submission, why not . . . an arm wrestling contest.
Mark says that they have a deal, but Paul says that was only a suggestion. He suggests a tug of war or weight lifting contest.
Mark says that they will have an arm wrestling match.
Mark adjusts the announce table and Paul says that there is no regulation table. Paul says that he is wrong for the third time.
Paul says that Cesaro is calling their bluff. Paul says that it is not a bluff because he believes that Cesaro is the world’s strongest athlete.
They assume the position at the announce table but Cesaro stands up. Henry says they don’t have all night and Paul asks why not.
They lock up and Paul grabs Henry’s arm and Cesaro hits him and then he rolls the table onto Henry.
Paul declares Cesaro the winner of the arm wrestling match and the World’s Strongest Guy.
We go to credits.

Terri Talks What Vince Did For Her, Underboob, Pillman Plans, PMS, Owen, More

- Former WWE and WCW personality Terri Runnels recently did an “Ask Me Anything” chat on Reddit. Below are some highlights:
Being in the PMS stable and doing the miscarriage angle:
“HATED the name PMS, HATED, HATED that cheap angle!!! That was a Vince Russo special that I begged him to change…Vince McMahon sided with Russo on that one! CHEAP and not effective!”
Her favorite Owen Hart story:
“Dustin and I always went over to Harley and BJ Race’s home to have his award winning chili. The night before the PPV we went over and Owen and I think Mick Foley came too. Harley had made a literal VAT of chili and he was very proud and protective of his bathtub full of red heaven! When Harley wasn’t looking Owen went to change the ratio of hot sauce to chili and accidentally (I really don’t think he meant to drop the whole bottle in the chili…maybe he did) added an entire bottle of hell’s whispers to the blue ribbon pot! Needless to say when Harley realized it and when he finally caught Owen off guard the next day he USED his stun gun on Owen until tears where coming out of Owen’s eyes! I really miss Owen! :(”
Her favorite Ray Traylor story:
“Oh Dear Lord…there are just SO many and most take too long! I will tell you that Ray legitimately got us LOST in a parking garage for 15 minutes! Not saying what plant from God’s GREEN EARTH he might have enjoyed prior to…just saying I actually starting Fussin’ at him. For all of you NON Southerners…that would mean I was audibly complaining! :D”
How many behind the scenes romances were there with Superstars and Divas?
“Can’t tell you now but it certainly seems like it is occurring some more now than in the ATTITUDE ERA! Lots of KayFabe Lovin back in the day!”
Did WWE want her to expose her chest when The Kat did?
“I showed what I wanted to where my boobs were concerned. I enjoyed the introduction and perfection of the underboob! Always made some countries a little nervous. :D”
Getting put through a table by The Dudleys:
“LOVED being the first woman to be put through the table with the Dudleys. Vince was VERY nervous and threatened Bubba if he hurt me! I asked for the table NOT to be gimmicked…and my only regret is that Bubba was scared he would hurt me and he protected me too much! I wanted more of that table! TRUE!”
Who she wanted to work more with:
“I would love to have done more with Steve Austin. We always had fun whenever we had “stuff” to do. He is not the “manage needy type” if ya know what I mean! :D Still liked working with him. Loved working with Edge and would have liked more and also Test. I would have had fun with Kevin Nash too!”
Taking a stinkface from Rikishi:
“Funny story…Junior said “Girl, I am extra fresh and clean for you!”…and so he was! Who woulda thunk it right!?! If you ever really pay attention…most people don’t “take” his finish…I saw it as a respect thing and took it as best I could. He could have made it brutal for me and didn’t…so happy we have been good friends for over 25 years! We go way back to NWA WCW days at Center Stage in ATL…them wuz tha dayz! :D”
What’s the nicest thing Vince McMahon ever did for her?
“Let me sign a contract to only work TV’s and PPV’s so I could be at home with Dakota! :)”
Her current relationship with Goldust:
“Always massive respect and love based on the fact that we have a daughter together. Sometimes I wish his current wife would be comfortable in the fact that he is all hers where the husband wife thing is concerned. We have co-parented and communicated since 1999 w/o any major troubles. I think there might be a bit of a short leash there. That is his choice and he has to live with it. What matters is that we communicate for Dakota. We used to have a lot more fun and laughs though…I have to say that is a bit disappointing now that I think of it. :(”
Will she ever write a tell-all book?
“Nope, I like my friends and don’t think it’s nice to do that to them. I think people should have a choice if they want to tell provocative things about themselves…shouldn’t be in the hand of others.”
Does she see herself in the WWE Hall of Fame?
“I sincerely believe there are SO many deserving older wrestlers that should be given the honor before me.”
What was planned for her storyline with Brian Pillman before his death:
“I was going to leave Dustin instead of finishing out the renewal of our vows after Brian “had” me for 30 days. Dustin was going to turn face and I would have become more of a heel.”

Foley Warns WWE About Daniel Bryan, Compares to Zack Ryder Storyline

- Mick Foley tweeted the following during last night’s RAW about the Kane vs. Daniel Bryan storyline:
“I hope @WWE treads VERY carefully with this @WWEDanielBryan situation.Feels eerily similar to the story that derailed @ZackRyder’s career.”
He wrote more on Facebook later on:
“Whether Daniel Bryan – WWE Universe knows it or not, NOW is the time that the fiercest fighting takes place for a WWE champion – and it has nothing to do with the action in the ring. Now is the time to step up and shoot down horrible ideas that can derail even the most promising of ideas. I used to joke that Daniel was the exception to the rule that every top guy in WWE has been percieved at one time or another as a pain in the neck – largely for their willingness to step up and call the creative team out on bad ideas when they see them. That thing I saw tonight – that thing with Daniel and Brie Bella – WWE Universe and the car? That was a bad idea – one that never should have seen the light of day.
I have said on several occasions that I used up my ammo when it came to complaining about WWE storylines when I went to bat for the #YesMovement in the aftermath of the Royal Rumble. I’m going to do my very best to do just that. But I’ll first ask everyone involved – Daniel, Brie, Hunter, Steph, Vince, etc., to take a good look at the nearly identical storyline that ran Zack Ryder’s promising career off the rails…and do everything they can to avoid that same horrible stretch of track.

Maria Talks Bellas Beef, HHH’s Job, Nancy Grace, Hardys Story, CM Punk

- Former WWE Diva Maria Kanellis recently spoke with WrestlingOpinion.com. Below are some highlights:
Triple H :
“Anybody that wants to say it is the Yes Movement better also remember who the boss is, and who’s the one making the decisions now. And I think that Triple H doesn’t necessarily get as much credit as he deserves, because he is the on building up that NXT, he’s the one that has made it a hub and place for wrestling to grow and get better and better.”
CM Punk :
“Punk came in, changed everybody’s mind. Then management started listening. Management went, ‘Oh, he know’s how to get over.’ Because he knows the people, because he’s been working in front of the people for 9 years now.”
Squashing the feud with The Bella Twins :
“I actually and done with that part of my life. I talked to Nikki the other day. We’re cool. Like its funny, I don’t think I knew all the facts. I think people were telling me things that weren’t necessarily true. I wanted to be done with it. So, one day I just texted her and was like, ‘hey, I don’t know what happened, but I’m sorry.’ And she responded back and she’s like ‘I understand, you know things happen.’ She was super cool about it. And we’re done with that. Like, I’m an honest person, and when I find out I’m wrong, I’m wrong.”
A story about being stranded on the side of the road and being rescued by The Hardys:
“I got pulled over on the way to a show, and the guy took my car away from me (she did not realize she had a speeding ticket out that had not been paid). Here I was with my rental car and they took it away from me, they said I couldn’t drive. I was like ok, cool. The cop leaves me on the side of the road. Me, my two big bags, and my dog Gemini. Here I am on the side of the road. Here comes the Hardy Boyz! Flying down the highway. I get a phone call, ‘Maria, was that you on the side of the road?’ Yeah, it was me. Matt was on the phone. Matt’s like, ‘We’re coming to get ya!’ I’m like, ‘Ok good!’ Here comes Matt, picks me up, and we keep going. So, The Hardy’s are my angels.”
Nancy Grace:
“The Nancy Grace’s of the world are so behind of the times. Holy crap. And how can you be so disrespectful? I mean, how can you be so rude? Like, here this man comes on to talk about a friend, and then you’re going to do that to him? I mean she’s just an evil, evil woman.”

Big E Talks What He’s Focused On and Meeting Bill Goldberg

- WWE Intercontinental Champion Big E recently spoke with TroyRecord.com to promote Monday’s RAW from Albany, NY. Below are a few highlights:
Meeting Bill Goldberg as a teenager:
“I actually got to meet him at a signing probably about 15 years ago. It was a really pleasant experience. He was really polite. It really demonstrated to me that you can spend 20 or 30 seconds with a fan and you can leave a lasting impression.”
The Intercontinental Title and still being champion on Monday’s RAW:
“My focus is having the best reign currently that I can have with the IC title. I promise you that I will still be Intercontinental Champion.”

Who Was Scouting with Regal, WWE Tryout Rumor, Why WWE Wants Brazil

- William Regal was in Brazil last weekend to scout talents for WWE and attended the FILL Double Impact event and the BWF Called To Fight event. Regal was joined by WWE Director of Talent Canyon Ceman.
WWE hopes to find some Brazilian wrestlers with potential and bring them to the United States because Brazil is an emerging economic market and is high on WWE’s list of places they think they can make good money in.
There are rumors coming out of Brazil that Regal and Ceman were high on Brazilian wrestlers Insano Igor, Max Miller, Tim Anderson, Brutus e Xandao, Sonico, Tytan, Prodan and Pezao. Those wrestlers are rumored for a future tryout at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando.

Big News on Flair’s WWE Future and What We Might See Him Doing

- WWE reportedly has an offer on the table for Ric Flair to come back on a much more regular basis but he has to “dot his I’s, cross his T’s and get his house in order.” It’s not clear what exactly that refers to but it could mean that Flair needs to tie up some loose ends in his personal life before going back on the road with WWE.

It was said that if Flair gets his stuff in order, don’t be surprised if he’s more involved with guys likeTriple H and Randy Orton going forward.

Daniel Bryan Losing His Title Soon?, Officials Feel He Isn’t Over, How He Is Backstage

- There has been a lot of talk within WWE about where Daniel Bryan will be in the next few months. Some higher-ups feel that Bryan isn’t over, it’s the “yes!” chant that is over. They feel that Bryan peaked at WrestleMania XXX with the WWE World Heavyweight Title win.
It’s said that a lot of top guys argue with officials about how they’re booked or portrayed but Bryan doesn’t. There’s not a lot of ego with how Bryan carries himself backstage and in how he deals with creative.
There are many people waiting to see if Bryan cools off and gets moved out of his current position or if he gets hotter and stays there.

Gail Kim Says She Felt Like WWE Wanted Her Life, Talks WWE-TNA, More

Here are a few highlights Gail Kim’s recent appearance on Jim Ross’ podcast:
Women joining pro wrestling but don’t actually want to wrestle: “Well, Christy Hemme transitioned. She’s still in this business in a different form but she’s always had passion and always been respectful.”
Differences between WWE and TNA: “I feel like WWE, they want you to give your life to them. They want you to eat, sleep, drink everything wrestling and that’s fine for someone early in their lifetime. I was always nurtured in TNA with my talent and they saw my talent and gave me that spotlight and that platform where as with WWE I felt like they wanted everyone to feel scared for their jobs.”
Wrestlemania 25 Diva Battle Royal: “We didn’t really have time to go through 25 girls in the match! I wasn’t supposed to get eliminated when I did. Victoria was standing on the apron and we had this thing planned. I hit her and eliminated myself early.”

Jericho on Should CM Punk Return, Sting In WWE, His WWE Future, Lots More

- Digital Spy recently spoke with Chris Jericho. Below are some highlights:
How did you feel about the end of The Streak and how it happened?
“I loved it, I thought it was great. It was a legitimate shock, it got everybody talking. I think the right guy got it, if you’re going from a credibility standpoint, and if you’re going from a believability standpoint. As much as people and fans and journalists want to believe that it’s the case, I’m not sure if Undertaker had too many matches left in him. Maybe he doesn’t want to wrestle again. Maybe he knew that he couldn’t take any more.
“It’s a big, physical task to wrestle as it is, and once a year is hard. I wouldn’t want to come and wrestle just once a year. That’s even harder than wrestling 200 times a year, because your body’s not used to it. And the older you get, the harder it gets, the more the aches and pains kick in.
“Maybe The Undertaker decided that, ‘I don’t want to do this anymore’. And much to the fans’ chagrin, who wish that we would wrestle until the day we die at 90 years old and explode into a puff of dust in the ring, sometimes you’ve got to make that decision.
“If the time was now, Brock was the right guy for that day, and I thought it was amazing. And I would have hated it – hated it – if Undertaker would have retired without losing. I think that would have been a horrible way to go, I’m really happy that he lost The Streak.”
Will Daniel Bryan be able to maintain or even build on his success now he’s got the belts?
“I don’t know, that’s something you’ll have to ask him. I always knew he’d get to that level, I always knew he’d be a top guy because he’d done it before everywhere else that he’d ever worked. It was no surprise to me.
“Will he be able to sustain it? I guess that depends on him, on how he’s booked, but he’s definitely got the chops for it. He’s a great performer, he’s got a great connection with the fans. It took so long for them to pull the trigger, I think people were really excited to see it happen, and now that they’ve got their wish hopefully they continue to support him at the highest level.”
What do you think about the rumors of a CM Punk return?
“I don’t know, man, who knows, right? That’s something that only he can answer for sure. To me, if he hasn’t come back already, then… I left the WWE for two-and-a-half years in 2005. The only difference was I left when my contract was up, but I disappeared too, because I just was over it. I couldn’t take it anymore, I wasn’t interested in being there, I was getting miserable, so I know how he feels.
“I had no intention of coming back, and after two-and-a-half years I watched Shawn Michaels vs John Cena at WrestleMania 23 and that inspired me to want to come back, but it took two-and-a-half years to get there.
“So my answer is, ‘I don’t know’, but I just know how I was when I did the same thing. It took a long time for me to be able to come back, and I was probably the same age as Punk is now too, so maybe he’s going through the same thing and after a few years he’ll come back.”
How would you feel about Sting joining the WWE in some capacity?
“Personally I don’t really have any opinions either way. If he comes to the WWE, good for him, it’s great. I saw him a couple of times in TNA and you know pretty much what he can do at this point in time. He is a legend and to have him come to the WWE for the first time would be great, but after a week or two what’s he going to do there?
“If you’re a hardcore fan it might be cool – for me it doesn’t really matter either way; if that’s what he wants to do then good for him, and I hope he shows up. And if not, then I don’t think it’s going to make a difference either way in WWE business. It’s not 1998 anymore, you know.”
And yourself – are you gearing up for one of your famous entrances?
“Even if I was I wouldn’t tell you! It’s an open door policy on both of our ends to go back… I love wrestling – I always have, I still do but from the moment I left WWE back in July it’s not like I’ve had a moment not doing something else.
“There’s a lot of stuff going on – by design. Four or five years ago I realized that I’m not going to be wrestling forever – I don’t want to be wrestling forever, I can’t wrestle forever. Because the day that comes that I can’t have a match that I think is worthy of Chris Jericho, I’m not going to do it. Now, that could be tomorrow, that could be ten years from now, but when it’s done, what do I do?
“If the time comes for my schedule, and the WWE’s schedule – the last thing they’re doing is waiting around for Chris Jericho to come back, they’ve got other things to think about. And what will I be doing when I come back?
“I spoke to them in November about coming back in January, but neither of us could really agree on what it was I would be doing, and not in a bad way. If I’m going to come back, what am I going to be doing at WrestleMania?
“Let’s see, we’ve got Batista coming back, we’ve got Brock Lesnar coming back, we’ve got Undertaker coming back, we’ve got Hulk Hogan coming back, we’ve got the ascension of Bray Wyatt, we’ve got the ascension of The Shield, Cesaro’s ready to go and Daniel Bryan’s ready to go. Where do I fit in?
“People were like, ‘Are you going to come back and be in the AndrĂ© the Giant Battle Royal?’ Absolutely not. I would never come back for that. Not that there’s anything wrong with being in that, but why would Chris Jericho, six-time world champion, come back just to be in a Battle Royal? It doesn’t make any sense, it would have to be something I could sink my teeth into, something of merit. Something worthwhile in my mind.
“That doesn’t mean coming back just to work for the world title, it could mean coming back to work with anybody, but there has to be a story and a reason behind it. If there isn’t, there’s no reason for me to come back and I’m not interested in that.
“The same with the WWE – like I said, I talk to them all the time, we have a great relationship, but if it doesn’t work for both of us, then it won’t happen. When the time comes where it does, then it will. It’s as simple as that.”

Ryback Not Fond of Time with Heyman, Makes Comparison to Top Stars, More

The Miami Herald has a new article up with comments from Ryback and WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos. Below are some highlights from Ryback:
The roller coaster ride of being a WWE Superstar:
“I came in 2012 and burst on the scene. I believe I was the most popular thing. Before the ‘Yes Movement’, there was the ‘Feed Me More’ movement. I took the WWE by storm. I was undefeated for some time, sometimes taking on two guys at one time. I jumped in the main event scene very quickly and stayed very popular with the WWE Universe for a long time. We made the switch and went an opposite way and took it all away. Not that I necessarily agreed with it at the time, but I feel it was a good move.”
Ryback in and out of the ring:
“Through Twitter and everything else like that I’m just myself. A lot of people like to see that. When I’m in the ring I’m very intense. I consider myself a modern-day gladiator when I go out there. Social media and things like WrestleMania Axxess, this is my whole personality. On TV you can only catch so much. When I’m in the ring performing I’m a gladiator. Outside of it is different. If look at guys like Kurt Angle, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin and The Rock, they were very diverse characters. Ryback is a very diverse character as well.”
His time with Paul Heyman:
“I got absolutely nothing [from that]. It’s a time period I will not even think to look back on.”
Curtis Axel:
“Curtis Axel is a great, amazing human being. Working with him is the most fun I’ve had in wrestling in some time. The only positive thing from Paul Heyman was getting to be around Curtis Axel and getting that out of it. Me and Curtis go back to developmental together. I’m very happy we are getting a chance to mesh and gel on TV and come together as RybAxel.”

Sheamus Rips Nancy Grace, Talks About Working for Vince and More

- Below is a video of Sheamus speaking to CBS Sports 920 in St. Louis earlier this week. Here are some highlights from the interview:
Locker room resentment from him being WWE Champion after five months on TV:
“I really didn’t give a damn. I wasn’t a kid. I wasn’t there to make friends I was there to be successful.”
WWE now compared to when he debuted:
“I think the locker room is a lot better. There’s a lot more willingness to help everybody.”
Working for Vince McMahon:
“Vince is really quiet. You’ll see him backstage and he’s quiet. He’s really focused on what he’s doing … He’s cool, always been cool with me I’ve never had a problem with him. Get along with him well and he’s a fair boss.”
Nancy Grace:
“You know, I’ve never been a fan of Nancy Grace. It’s not a talk show. It’s just her talking. I don’t even think she has a soul, to be honest with you … It’s garbage. Her show is garbage.”

Drew McIntyre Talks Sting-WWE, Stables In WWE, His Characters, NXT and More

- Drew McIntyre recently spoke with DigitalSpy to promote WWE’s upcoming tour of the UK. Here are some highlights:
People still talk about SummerSlam ’92 at Wembley – do you think we deserve another pay-per-view and will we get it?
“I think it’s possible. Obviously there’s a huge time difference with the States, but it worked out for Summer Slam ’92 and it was wildly successful. Personally it’s one of my favorite pay-per-views of all time. Of course, I would love to do a show back home. They can see how passionate the crowds are – if that doesn’t convince you to do a pay-per-view, I don’t know what else will.”
You’re a guy who was in development before NXT existed – what do you think about that change?
“When I first came over it was the end of 2007 – I was still 21. Watching the growth from back then, when it was Developmental, they helped you hone your skills, and get you ready for the big time. It was a like a faraway land – WWE seemed so far away. When you got there it was such a shock.
“Now, NXT is its own brand. You’re learning, but at the same time you’re getting a miniature WWE platform to perform on. So when you get up to the big stages it’s not so much of a shock that knocks you down on the ground.
“You’re ready, there’s a lot of exposure for some of the characters – the people who watch it are aware of the characters. Everybody is much more prepared. The performance center in Orlando is the most unbelievable place I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Three man stables are all the rage now – you guys, The Wyatt Family, The Shield, even a three-piece Evolution – why are they so hot right now?
“I think it’s a good idea to get everybody comfortable on the main stage, and also generally with these groups every person brings a different flavor. When it comes to The Shield, they’ve obviously got three completely different characters put together. It makes an awesome group of individuals.
“When it comes to the Wyatts they’re all very similar with Bray leading the way, and together they’re a force. When it comes to us guys, we’re completely out of our mind! We’re sometimes too focused on having a good time than winning matches.”
How did you adapt personally from being The Chosen One to being one of three?
“It was obviously night and day, the difference. I went from a Terminator-style character to being in a band, having a good time. For myself, at the time it was pretty good. I did suffer a hand injury and have to get surgery. I wore a cast for about the first seven months of 3MB, I had to get a screw put in my wrist. It gave me a chance to show a different side of my personality, rather than be serious all the time.
“That’s what it’s all about. You can’t just be the same character forever, you’ve got to add some layers, show some personality. That’s what we’re all about – we’re about entertainment, and I’m having a great time right now. One day I’ll maybe get a little serious again and start heading for those titles…”
Do you think that CM Punk will make a return to the WWE in the foreseeable future?
“Personally I don’t know. I don’t know what’s going on, I don’t know what’s going to happen. You can never tell what’s going to happen in sports entertainment, that’s what the boss always says.”
And what do you think about the rumors of Sting finally making his debut with the WWE?
“He’s somebody who’s never been in the company, if that was to happen it would obviously be a very big thing, but as I always say – don’t believe everything you read on the internet until it actually happens!”
